Once every 4 years…

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Oh, don’t mind me. I’m just posting for the sake of posting on a February 29th.
Just remember, every year that is divisible by 4 with the exception of centuries that are not divisible by 400 i.e. 2100, 2200, 2300.

Talk about coincidences…

During an interview for a job in the UK a couple of years ago, the interviewer pointed out that in my previous 3 years of work the names of my employers always started with the letter S.

Solectron (now Flextronics, after a takeover),
Sony (in Seberang Prai), &
Streamline (in Shanghai, my uncle’s company).

Okay, so I worked for Paul’s Garden in Dartford while in the UK but the 4 companies that gave me unsuccessful interviews there were Filtronic, Keymed, Expo and Ford.

Two weeks ago I applied to fill a vacancy, about two and a half years since I left my last engineering position. It was not until today when I started preparing for the interview next Saturday did I realised:

Shimano, in Singapore!

But I don’t believe in coincidences, only in God’s perfect plan.

Blessed Chinese New Year

My design for our church’s multi-purpose red packet. The concept behind this design is the giving and receiving of blessings (for any occasion) in the form of this ‘ang pow’. The 2 Chinese characters basically means grace/favour/blessing, to match the English “Blessing” and John 1:16 (dual language, now that we have Hokkien Service).

Have a Blessed Chinese New Year!
