Another Interview!

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

November 30th, 2005 1:12am

Dear Lord,

Forgive me if I have not been grateful enough for another opportunity to secure employment here in the UK with KeyMed. But I’ve begun to question myself whether this was more for my glory of Yours. Whether securing work with Filtronic or KeyMed would be a selfish and worldly desire if I have not focused on the eternal treasures and Your will for me to serve You. Help me to remember that all things here in this lifetime is temporary. My prayer is that with the doors you’re about to open, I will clearly see opportunities for me to bring You greater glory. Thank you, Lord.

Amen.

P.S. Interview is next Tuesday. At least I get another chance to wear my £79 suit and £35 overcoat. These were costly investments.

Most Exciting Week

Friday, November 25th, 2005

Yeap. Lots of things happening this week.

After the interview, I got an offer to move back to Dartford after spending the past 1.5 weeks at a Vietnamese restaurant in Sutton. The place allowed customers to smoke so I wasn’t very keen on staying long. But I thank God for allowing me to share the Good News with someone else at the restaurant, explaining the events and reasons for Jesus’s death and resurrection, and see the difference in having Him in my life.

Meanwhile, I’m waiting for a reply for the interview that I went to on Wednesday. Should know some time next week. This could be one of the many opportunities that I need to be dependent on God to provide because of how the interview went. Only He can provide if I am humble enough. Whatever the outcome is, I’m sure it is part of His plans for me to bring Him greater glory.

Internet access minutes at the Dartford Public Library running out. Thanks again for all your prayers.

Gideon, Judges 6-8

November 23rd, 2005 4:18pm

Dear Lord,

After this interview, I am reminded of the story of Gideon. How you wanted to show the Israelites that they were not going to defeat the thousands of Midianites by their own strength. You reduced the number of Gideon’s army from 32,000 to just 300 for battle and gave them victory.

This interview was similar to Gideon’s gathering of his army for battle.
1. I was applying for the wrong position after a mix up at the recruitment agency although I’m just as interested in the new role.
2. The trouble was that I once applied for a similar position back in Penang. With amazing similarities, I was tested then, as I was now, on how I would design some jigs and fixtures for assembly and testing purposes. I did badly then and I did badly just now.

My only prayer is that I don’t received a similar apologetic postcard like I did more than 2 years ago. I pray that I have found favour in Your eyes and You will bless me with this position if it brings You glory. Otherwise, thank you Lord for the experience and the possible path You’ve begun to chart for me by giving me a return to Dartford, closer to Gravesend for the Equal Care Project.

May your Spirit help me not to doubt and test You as Gideon did. Praise God, awesome is the Lord most high.

Amen.

Interview!

Thursday, November 17th, 2005

Yahoo! I’m going for my first interview!

It’s scheduled for next Wednesday so I have enough time to hunt for an affordable suit and plan my journey to Bradford, which is way up north. It’s for a mechanical draughtsman position which needs my CAD skills from Sony. Travel expenses paid for but I might choose to go there a day before just to know where the place is and all.

I’m praising God (Awesome is the Lord most high!) because He has assured me that He might still have plans for me here. Otherwise, I was going to start thinking of coming home! Pray that His Spirit grants peace and guidance in planning and preparation (physically, mentally and spiritually) and that it is still a blessing no matter what the outcome is. Thanks for all the prayers and continue to keep me in prayer.
